I was just like "Woooooooow!"<br />Of course I stopped and took two pictures. But I'm sorry, I had no cam with me :/<br /><br />In the past two years, If Im honest, I roamed around this selling place almost once a month, but in the last few months not that much. Maybe I'm searching for some pics of spots I found there :)<br /><br />The boss, I think he is, if not, sorry!, said I'm almost the 200th person taking photos. My Modelcar is the Special Version.<br /><br />Between 1966 and 1975 'Lotus Cars' produced about 9300 Lotus Europa in Hethel, Norfolk, England. <br />It's a 2-door sports car coupe.  Lotus founder Colin Chapman's philosophy of the automotive design was "Simplify, then add lightness" - And thats how the Europa looks like. The Europa was the first mid-engine mass-produced road car. Automotive writers described the handling very near to a Formula car for the road.<br /><br />Sine December 1966 you were able to order the Series 1 or S1 Europa or Lotus Type 46, the first were delivered in France in February 1967. The engines, from a Renault 16, had 82 hp (61 kW) and needed 10 seconds for the run 0-100 kkmh / 0-60 mph. The top speed was around 180 kmh (110 mph) and only 644 were produced.<br />The Type 47 had 165 hp and was a modified track-version. There are no serious numbrs, but they built around 55 ones between 1966 and 1970.<br /><br />The Series 2 or S2 Europa or Type 54 was introduced in the first quartal of 1968. Electric windows and a new interieur are some new gadgets of this model. There also were a few, about 200, modified to be exported to the US.<br /><br />Between 1969 and 1970 they had a new Version, the Type 65 or S2 Federal to better comply with the US D.O.T standards. With one of those they reached the 100 kmh / 60 mph from zero in 9.6 seconds and a top speed of 187 kmh / 116 mph. About 3 615 S2 were produced. <br /><br />Since 2006 the rebuilt the Europa and called it 'Europa S'. They have an 2 l turbo engine with 200 PS (197 bhp). They have a maximum speed around 230 kmh / 143 mph and need 5.8 seconds for 0-100 kmh / 0-60 mph. The drivers, maximum 30 cars, get every morning a package  with a route and their evenings destination. The route goes from east to west coast, 3000 miles!<br />Every day the participants have to find ckeckpoints and after reaching all six codes they should be able to find the now resolutioned zip code where the hidden locker is located. The only thing wich is offical: the hidden locker is located somewhere on the West Coast. Inside the Locker, which'll be the prize for the winner of this race, there's a briefcase full with money.<br />The Rat Racers shouldnt get arrested by the cops for speeding or some other things. I've choosen this one because, as you know, its still winter and cold outside and I use to drink a lot of tea and I always connect the wonderful Great Britain with tea - so it wasn't hard to choose this car!<br />I thought long about how I shoot my model, thats how it ended, hope you like it! :)<br /><br />Designed by <b>Dirk van Braeckel</b> Bentley Motors Limited produces the GT since 2003 in Crewe, England. It has an 6.0 l W12 engine with 560 HP with an ZF tiptronic automatic transmission. For the acceleration from 0-100 kmh / 61.1 mph it needs 4.8 seconds and the top speed is around 318 kmh / 197.6 mph.<span class="mw-headline" id="Flying_Spur"> </span><br /><span class="mw-headline" id="Flying_Spur">There are 6 types of the GT: The Flying Spur, the four-door variant, was first shown up in 2005 at the Geneva Motor Show. The GTC, the convertible, was released in 2005, too. With the roof down it'll reach 305 kmh / 189.5 mph.<br />The GT Speed, the more powerful variant, has 600HP and a top speed around 325 kmh / 201.9 mph. For the 0-100 kmh it needs 3.9 seconds with a top speed of 329 kmh / 204.2 mph. It costs about $267,000.<br /><br />That was the first Generation, now some to the second one. Also assembled in Crewe, England, they produce since this year only the coupe version with an 6.0L W12 and an 4.0L V8 engine.<br /><br /><span class="mw-headline" id="Continental_GT">Juha Kankkunen, four-time World Rally Champion, broke the World Speed Record on Ice with a GT Speed - 321.6 kmh / 199.83 mph. We all want to fight to become the Nürburgring again a place for real motor-sports and not just for fun parks. Please read this, watch the movie, <b>sign the petition and tell your friends</b>!! Lets hope for a change . .  <br /><br />" From 2007 - 2009 the German government built a huge Leisure Park at the  Nürburgring. It is based on fake visitor numbers, over sized and badly  executed. Most of the time it is an empty ghost town. Once promised as  private investment, it is now based on a debt of 350+ million EUR public  money.<br /><br />Instead of pulling the plug they rented the park, including both race  tracks to exactly the same privateers who were driving forces behind the  Leisure Park's initial private setup.<br /><br />Without Racing experience they are since experimenting with events  completely unrelated to Motor-sport all under the iconic "<a href="http://savethering.org/">Nürburgring</a>"  brand name.<br /><br />They now want Nordschleife to pay for the huge losses. Today it would be her 110th Birthday, if she hadn't died in 1990. The person I'm talking about is none other than <b>Clärenore Stinnes</b>.<br />You never heard about her? So keep on reading, she really had an interesting life!<br /><br />Clärenore was born in 1901 in Mühlheim an der Ruhr, Germany. As I could read in her book "Im Auto durch zwei Welten (In Car through two worlds)" <i>she always had a passion for cars</i>. But just think back, it was at the begining of the 20th Century, cars were very rare and not everyone was able to buy one. Thanks to her dad, a industrialist, she had the oportunity to repair them and just enjoyed the time she was able to spent with cars. At the <b>age of 24 she took part at her first motor race</b> and between 1925 and 1927 she had won 17 motor races.<br /><br /><b>She wanted to help the Car industry, to make the car more popular</b>, worldwide, and started on the 25th May 1927 a travel no one did ever before - <b>47 000 km around the globe, by car!</b><br /><br />Not everyone thought positive about that trip. Too dangerous, shes a woman and so on. . . She decided to use an <a href="http://www.the-car-addict.com/search/label/Adler" target="_blank">Adler Standard 6</a>. The whole crew consisted out of her, two mechanics (in a identical second car) and the swedish photographer <b>Carl-Axel Söderström</b>.<br /><br />The route took them from <a href="http://www.the-car-addict.com/search/label/Frankfurt%20Motor%20Show" target="_blank">Frankfurt </a>to Budapest, Constantinople, Baghdad, Tbilisi, Moscow, Novosibirsk, Ulan Bator to Peking, from there by ship to Japan, Tokyo, again by ship to San Francisco. In America they drove to Vancouver, flew to Panama, south America, went back to North America, <b>met Henry Ford</b> in Detroit and started in New York again with an ship the last journey to Le Havre and then to Berlin.<br /><br />What a pleasure for Clärenore to visit Henry Ford in this Factory, shook his hand and talked to him. Also she was welcomed by president Herbert Hoover in Washington D.C. .<br />Really nice to read are details like "128 hard bolied eggs till Konstantinopel" in her and Söderströms Diary entries.<br /><br />The whole journey took 2 years and one month. Söderström was married when he left and in love with Clärenore when he came back to Berlin in 1929.<br />They married and had some kids together before Söderström died in 1967 (aged 83) and Clärenore on the 7th September in 1990 (aged 89).<br /><br /><br />At the end I linked you a Video from YouTube with original scenes of Söderströms Movie from year 1931 about their trip around world. <br /><br />There were several books puplished but just in german and not all are still available (happily I have a exemplar!) :)<br /><br />I took some snaps of the prints in the book and wrote some explanatory captions under each!<br /><div style="text-align: center;"><b><br /></b></div><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto;
