"Germanys best driver") in Fürstenfeldbruck, near Munich. It's since more than 20 years organized by a big german car magazine. It wasshiny and everyone wanted to own it - Gold.<br />But todays Gold is still very likely seen an not 'everyday', especially not as a color for a Car. Or a house/hotel. And why not bring these both together?<br /><br />A golden DeLorean, if the car isnt alown something special, in front of a golden Hotel. Can you poke me right now please?!<br /><br />No, dreams come true someday and so deloman.de and I went to Austria, to the 'Hotel am See' in Hard, straight at the Lake of Constance to see if these both gold shades work together well.<br /><br />As you can see at the pictures below - the both match together perfectly!<br /><br />But, unfortunately, the hotels covered with brass and this color shade won't last long and it will change its shade. It's the following car fo the 250 LM and himself there followed the gorgeous F40, F50 and the Enzo Ferrari.<br />The letters GT stand for 'Grand Turismo' and the O for Omologato, homologation in Italian. The 288 refers to it's 2.8 liter V8 engine. The 288 GTO is based on the mid-engined 308 GTB which has an 3.0 l V8 engine.<br />The GTO reaches 201 km/h (125 mph) in 15 seconds and the Top speed of 304 km/h (189 mph) made it to the first street-legal car that reaches 300 km/h (186 mph).<br /><br />Originally the GTO was built to compete in the Group B Race. Only Ferrari with the GTO and Porsche with their 959 entered this Championship. Porsche drove this race three times, Ferrari never. So every of the 272 produced cars were pure road cars.<br /><br />Ferrari also built five 'Evoluzione' models, which has a much more aggressive body and an increased power. It has 650 hp and a top speed of 363 km/h (225 mph) with a weight of 940 kg. There are only three existing, one of those you can visit at the 'Galleria Ferrari' in Maranello.<br /><br />The 'Sports Car International' awarded the GTO in 2004 as number two of the 'Top Sports Cars of the 1980s'.
